A huge rumor arose earlier today as a user claimed he hacked Xbox LIVE and exposed information on the service’s over 47 million users. Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox LIVE was not hacked.
Microsoft confirmed via Gamespot the following:
“Xbox Live has not been hacked. Microsoft can confirm that there has been no breach to the security of our Xbox Live service.”
This hacker scared some folks as he apparently had a document you could download that included the email addresses, passwords and usernames of all 47 million Xbox LIVE accounts.
Thankfully it is fake and whoever did it was just seeking attention. He initially did this in retaliation for the lackluster Xbox One reveal and the rumored information about the console that followed…
Actually, it was hacked, and the document is available on the Internet. Shitty reporting is shitty.
whatever that document is, it’s FAKE. Microsoft confirmed that Xbox LIVE was not hacked. Don’t believe what this hoax person says.
