With Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon finally out for the PS3 and Xbox 360, many people are wondering just what type of challenges are awaiting them. With mutated animals and dragons that can fire lasers from their eyes, the world of Blood Dragon is quite the crazy place. To help you better navigate this crazy land, we made a trophy / achievement guide to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the action.

After you watch the first cutscene, you’ll have to kill some people with a helicopter. Upon finishing this segment you will receive the trophy / achievement.

Finished all the Garrisons
In Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon you’ll find these bases called garrisons. There are 13 of them total and all of them have a huge red laser (in addition to a marker on the map) to indicate you need to liberate them. This is done by killing everyone, though I suggest finding the omega button (it’s indicated on the map with an omega symbol) and lowering their shield. This will summon a blood dragon, which you can kill to save some time on Dragon Slayer.

Once you liberate a garrison it becomes your base and will typically offer you a mission or two. Simply complete all the predator missions for this trophy / achievement. Also to save yourself some time, typically you’re just looking for a blue colored animal.

Also to save yourself some time, don’t bother being stealthy. I found most enemies target you over the hostage, so you should be able to kill them without having to worry about protecting anyone.

While there are a bunch of animals in Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, only certain ones count for this trophy / achievement. You can find a full list below and you can use your map to figure out their location, though it should come naturally if you shoot different animals along the way.

- Mutated Cassowary
- Mutated Turtles
- Robo Dog
- Blood Dragon
- Cyber Shark
- Cyber-Panther
- Neon Snakes

Set Them Free
Destroy 5 Braincages
Every now and then you will find a blood dragon wearing a weird helmet. Simply shoot it and that will destroy the “braincage”. Since you encounter 3 or 4 in the story and another in a certain garrison, this shouldn’t be a problem. In the unlikely event you don’t get this trophy come the end of the game, just keep looking for blood dragons. Every now and then (about 25%) one will spawn with a braincage you can destroy.
Just the Tip
Kill a Dragon with the Bow
Okay, so this is most likely the hardest trophy / achievement in the game. Not only because killing dragons can be difficult, but because the bow doesn’t really do much damage to them. My advice is to play through the story till your objective is to kill the blood dragons. Here you will fight two of them in a small-enclosed area, which is ideal for pulling this trophy off. Additionally, both bases have plenty of ammo / supplies to help you out, so it really works well. Beyond this, try to get them to little to no health and then pelt them with arrows. Just keep in mind that the red spot on their chest is their weak point.
