The budget cost for developing Grand Theft Auto V is around $137 million according to Sterne Agee’s analyst Arvind Bhatia.
He based this figure on the five years of work the 250 employees worked on the game. On top of all that, he estimated the marketing cost for the game to be around $69 million and $109.3 million.
If this is true, Grand Theft Auto V will be one of the most expensive video games ever made. Still, this is still smaller than the budget of Hollywood movies. The Dark Knight Rises cost $250 million to make. Even Disney’s disaster John Carter cost $250 million as well.
Despite Grand Theft Auto being delayed until September 17th, Bhatia predicts this won’t affect any sales for the game. He says the game is likely to sell around 18 million copies making a profit of $230 million.
