Max Payne 3 Guide – Clue Locations
Max Payne 3 has hidden clues everywhere and some are tucked away pretty nice. There’s no need to worry, however, as us here at Just Push Start have put together a comprehensive guide detailing the location of every clue. Collecting all clues will rewards players with the Achievement/Trophy titled An Echo Of The Past. That’s not all. Grabbing every clue will unlock the cheat code Bullet Cam On Every Kill. As an added bonus, we’ve also thrown in the tourist locations into this guide so that you can nab the Achievement/Trophy titled You Sure Know How To Pick A Place.

Chapter 1
Clue: Celebrity Magazine
A magazine is sitting on a square table next to a white sofa in the area following the shoot dodge tutorial. Examine it for the Celebrity Magazine clue.
Clue: Dropped Photo
Check the ground right before exiting the garage area. Examine the picture on the ground to get the Dropped Photo clue on your way out.
Chapter 2
Clue: Dead Soccer Star
Once you gain access to the WIP area you dove out of, search for the dead body wearing a white shirt. Examine the body for the Dead Soccer Star clue.
Clue: Nightclub Flyer
Check the end of the bar in the same VIP area where you found the previous clue. Examine the piece of paper to get the Nightclub Flyer clue.
Clue: Ex-Cop
After the cutscene with the nightclub owner, clear the area of all enemies. Continue into the next area which should be a small bathroom. Approach the bathroom door with the green light. This will initiate a cutscene and the Ex-Cop clue will be awarded after it ends.
Clue: Torn Dress Piece
Do not leave the area where you found the ex-cop. The table to the right has some cloth dangling off its right side. Examine it for the Torn Dress Piece clue.
Clue: Portuguese Newspaper
Progress until you reach the nightclub’s kitchen. Take out the handful of enemies here and then head to the right side of the kitchen. Examine the newspaper near the sink for the Portuguese Newspaper clue.
Clue: Giovanna’s Necklace
After clearing the roof, Max will head inside. Descend the stairs and keep your eye out for a necklace on the ground with a slight purple aura around it. Examine the piece of jewelry for the Giovanna’s Necklace clue.
Chapter 3
Clue: Picture of Victor
Once Passos gets Max all bandaged up in the medical room, head to the room right next to it. There’s a large picture on the wall. Examine it for the Picture of Victor clue.
Clue: Blood Stained Door
Before heading up the first elevator, check out the bloody white door to the left down a small set of steps. Examine the door for the Blood Stained Door clue.
Clue: Blood Stained Hallway
Escape the first sniper and enter a hallway. Take out the enemies and check the bloody pillar on the right before the exit. Examine it for the Blood Stained Hallway clue.
Clue: Soccer Star Memorial
Continue until you reach the trophy room. Make your way to the other end and you’ll see an elaborate display showing off pictures of the dead soccer player. Examine it for the Soccer Star Memorial
Chapter 4
Clue: Max’s NYPD Badge
Max and Passos will head back to Max’s apartment. Check the small table near the sofa for the Max’s NYPD Badge clue.
Clue: Brewer’s Journal
After clearing the hallway full of green lasers, Max’s neighbor Brewer will save Max and then sacrifice himself. Head into his apartment and check the table to the left for the Brewer’s Journal clue.
Clue: Newspaper Clippings
Turn right from the previous clue. Walk toward the bathroom and you’ll see a grouping of papers on the wall outside the bathroom. Examine it for the Newspaper Clippings clue.
