Analysts Weigh In Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s Sales Record Potential

Analysts spoke with GamesIndustry discussing the possibility of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 outselling its predecessor.

Call of Duty: Black Ops sold an impressive 25 million copies worldwide since it launched back in November 2010. Some analysts are predicting that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 won’t do so well.

One of the main reasons is that Halo 4 is released just a week before. Halo 4 is out November 6th while Call of Duty: Black Ops II is out November 13th. Two years ago, Halo: Reach was released back in September giving gamers time to save up their money etc.

The analysts also suggest that there’s not way a game franchise can keep selling over 20 million copies annually. It’s unrealistic that figures will remain this high forever and the franchise is sure to have a down period.

What do you think of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2? Could it sell over 25 million copies or have gamers moved on from the franchise?
