The Old Republic Receives Its Own Hip-Hop Album

If only I were kidding.

Yeah, you read the title right. SWTOR has received its first hip-hop album. Pfft, first. The album gets a free pass because it’s a hysterical idea and it has the best name ever.

‘The Cold Republic Episode 1: The Empire Likes Rap’

Let’s hope, however, that this doesn’t become a trend. Richie Branson, an independent music creator stated that he used some samples from the game to make a song that the fanbase took a liking to. He continued and an entire album was born of the odd-ball clustering of rap music and a Bioware/Star Wars MMORPG.

If you’d like to, check out his site here. However, if someone starts singing about midichlorians, better run away. FAST.

Wil Taylor

My name is Wil Taylor, an ex-rabid Nintendo fanboy until only a few years ago, a crazy man in a crazy hat showed me that games could be much more than Mario. I buckled up tight and gripped my respective controllers and decided that I was going to come up along-side the new wave of gaming and focus on the interactive mediums. Because seriously, how often does humanity discover an entirely new medium for art? Also, blowing up things is neat too. My favorite games are Bastion, Portal, BlazBlue, Street Fighter, Super Meat Boy and Saints Row.
