According to an interview with Eurogamer, Naughty Dog will not release single player DLC for Uncharted 3.
This does not mean Uncharted 3 won’t have DLC at all, it’s all in multiplayer form. There will be DLC planned for co-op and multiplayer content.
The main reason Naughty Dog won’t be releasing single player is simply because the studio would rather be working on its next game instead.
“There’s a very specific reason,” game director Justin Richmond told Eurogamer. “Whenever we sit down and think we should do some single-player DLC, someone pitches something and we realize – that’s a five hour level.”
“We’d rather build out another game than we would do episodic content,” Richmond continued.
Practically this means, Naughty Dog will go all out if the studio ever did release single player DLC. The time and effort needed to do that is better spent working on the next game. Whatever game that may be at this stage.
