Bret Hart Confirmed Not To Be In WWE ’12

Despite being involved heavily in WWE programming last year, Bret Hart has been confirmed not to be in the WWE ’12 roster.

Part-time Community Manager for THQ, Marcus Stephenson made the shocking announcement on this twitter account.

“There’s no Bret this year, guys. Just to confirm that one.”

This is a but unfortunate, although Bret Hart has featured in numerous other WWE video games over the past few years including WWE All Stars. I guess THQ thought it was time to feature other people like Brock Lesnar and the late great Macho Man Randy Savage.

WWE ’12 is released November 22nd in North America and November 25th in Europe for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

  1. well this will be the only year I do not buy the latest wwe game thanks guys for ruining that one for me.Just a question how are you going to have shawn michaels in his survivor series 97′ outfit and no bret hart.Or why some off these other guys it makes no sense you have michael cole and jim ross and Eddie guerrero for the 9000 time.I mean do we all pay 60 bucks for a video game that I mind you won’t come with the dlc characters you’ll have to pay extra for that or the rock if you dont pre order yours just in case you think you can wait it out and wait till it drops in price,And than we have no scott hall no bret hart no hogan even though you put him in that crappy all stars no yokozuna no mr perfect no bulldog no sid.I can keep going its just if im going to buy your game I want a simulated game play of smackdown and a full roster of legends can I be honest and just say all the legends games I play made buy wwe or some other outside names suck. You might not think the legends are much and want a more current roster fine,But let thoughs people have there game and let the generations before have there’s that’0s alot off your fans. Before I forget good post by Damian Antony, thx. But like I said this is one year I wont be buying a wwe game.

  2. How are you going to not include the greateast wrestler in WWF/WWE history? Especially since he’s involved in the program sometimes still. I understand if they wanted to “feature” other people like Brock etc…but you can’t have Bret in the the game?

I guess THQ can make up for this by having him as a free downloadable character…that would say alot.. and i think be appreciated by the fams that buy the game year in a year out..and be a huge plus for THQ in fan relations if they did that knowing there are alot of fans across the globe that wanted the Hitman in the game..and are not going to buy the game now since he’s not in it.

  3. Alright sorry for the mistake. Just thought you were part time since Cory Ledesma and THQ Tank were promoting the game when you were gone. Thought you were doing other work outside of gaming.

  4. WHAT?!!!!!!!! No Bret Hart this year??!! I’m SOOO not buying this game then. It wouldn’t feel the same without Hitman, esp since the dvd with Bret and Shawn just came out. Very disappointing THQ. Nevertheless, Bret Hart will always be the greatest of all-time.

  5. This is really dissapointing.
I’m still keeping my hopes up though, since a DLC legends pack is announced for January 2012.
A wrestling game without The Hitman just isn’t complete. I can’t understand this decision, especially since we’re talking high-capacity media now and there’s plenty of room to create a complete roster.

  6. completely stupid move guys. no hitman? even if he wasn’t my favorite wrestler of all time, you must include him. if you have shawn you must have bret hart.it’s like an nba with bird but leaving out magic johnson.they are forever linked even if they don’t like it.very disappointed by thq and their apparent laziness.wwe allstars was crap as well.it’s like these clowns purposely make crappy legends games because they know we would never buy a current wrestling game with the sorry wrestlers of today. with one legends game done right there would be no need to ever buy another smackdown.trust me, thq knows it too!
