Andriasang is reporting that Electronic Arts and Sega will be joining forces so that Sega can distribute EA’s games in the land of the rising sun Japan. This does not mean that EA bought Sega or that Sega bought EA Sega will still publish and distribute it’s own games worldwide. EA will still publish its own games and distribute them in places like Europe and the United States it’s only in Japan that it will rely on Sega to distribute it’s games.
This deal is set to start in august and will start just in time for the release of Shadows of the Damned, which is due for release on September 22. EA is hoping that with this deal it can make use of Sega’s distribution channels and management capabilities to expand its sales in the Japanese market.
