With Motion gaming comes the question of lag. Will the game respond as soon as I make a movement or move the controller? Well it seems with the PlayStation Move the slowest part of the process might actually be you.
During a recent interview Mark Greend part of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, claimed the reaction time of the Move is just 22 milliseconds. While Microsoft’s Project Natal has had a lot of press about slow reaction times it seems Sony’s PS Move has no problem with quickly recreating your movements in-game. Green later added “To put that in perspective the system is five times faster than that of a typical human’s reflexes!” Finally the controls of a game will not be holding the player back.
Lauching later this year, the Move will be able to track the controller through a 3D space delivering a “pixel precise” motion gaming experience. With no price yet announced, although confirmed to be below $100, Sony’s latest controller will be sure to make an appearance at this years E3 where we’ll find out even more.
