Square Enix recently revealed in the new Jump issue that copies of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 will be able to connect to each other.
Joker 2 focuses on building a team of monsters to battle with, much like the hit Pokémon franchise. When places your DS on sleep mode with the Joker 2 cartridge still inside it, you will enter into a wireless mode that downloads the data of other Joker 2 who are doing the same as you pass them in the street, school, or on the bus and enters into an AI controlled battle with their monster teams. Up to ten monster teams can be stored for battling with at a future date. By doing this, and winning, you can gain various prizes and some nice gold. Connectivity with Dragon Quest VI and IX is also possible, although owners of those titles will notice no change in their game.
No release date has yet been set for Joker 2 although expect it sometime late this year or early 2011.
