Thrustmaster Announces New PlayStation 4 Controller

There is a demand for higher end or ‘professional’ gaming accessories and it seems Thrustmaster is joining Astro and Scuf with a new controller.

Announced on their Twitter, the new controller looks to be similar to Astro’s C40. In addition to adding additional buttons on the back, this controller is all about giving players, well, control.

The brief video not only shows parts being swapped but also different colors and entirely different controls. With it being marketed to a more hardcore crowd, it is easy to see how these things can be an advantage, though right now a lot of things are just speculation.

With no information on the site, fact sheet or even an overview, we can only speculate on what the controller and can’t do. This seems like a set up for disappointment and a choice that is surprising given the Oct. 7 date, which could be release or possibly the full reveal.

Plus, beyond possibly going either way, price will play a huge factor in demand. Even if the Astro C40 is on the high end at $200, if the accessories for this cost too much or the quality simply isn’t there, I could see players going with Astro for design alone. But, given how little we currently know, there could be some ace in the hole or trick that makes this go from a dud to the top gift this holiday season.
