A few weeks ago it was reported that PUBG Corp. sued Epic Games for “copying” ideas in Fortnite Battle Royale. Well now it has been reported that the whole lawsuit has been dropped entirely.
As reported by Bloomberg, “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has dropped its lawsuit against the creators of global sensation Fortnite“.
The most interesting thing to note is that PUBG Corp. did not publicly reveal a reason why the lawsuit has been dropped so suddenly. It is also still unknown if the two sides decided to settle their differences outside of court either.
It’s entirely possible PUBG Corp. is not so threatened about Fortnite anymore. PUBG reportedly has over 400 million players worldwide while Fortnite’s last count was 125 million players. The two games are very successful that both can coexist at the same time.
