Deadpool 2’s David Leitch Set To Direct The Division Movie

Deadpool 2’s David Leitch Set To Direct The Division Movie

Ubisoft’s The Division sold millions of copies when it came out in 2016 and is still played by many gamers today. Ubisoft liked the success of the game, a Hollywood movie version is being adapted. Now the project has landed a director that will finally helm the film.

As reported by Variety, Deadpool 2 director David Leitch has signed to helm The Division movie that is currently in production. He will be joining Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal who have already been named as the two leads in this film version of the video game.

We may have to wait longerĀ  until The Division gets released because Leitch will direct the Fast and Furious spin-off starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Jason Statham first. The Fast and Furious spin-off is coming out first and is expected to have a 2019 release date.

Due to this, The Division movie won’t be starting production until that movie is complete. With that being said, we may see a 2020 or later release date for the Ubisoft film instead. Hopefully the movie is good because the history of video games films have not been very great so far.
