Pokemon game previously called unprecedented unveiled on Japanese TV

In recent weeks, we reported news about what was being called an “unprecedented” Pokemon title that would change something about the well known Pikachu. Now we have a little glimpse at what that game is, and saying weird would be an understatement.

The game appears to be something for the Nintendo 3DS that could be similar to many of the games where you take care of pets, like Tamagotchi or Nintendogs. If this is what the game turns out to be, it wouldn’t be the first time Pikachu tried its hand in that genre, as the poorly received Hey You, Pikachu! for Nintendo 64 was fairly similar. The very creepy part is it shows some sort of motion capture being done by humans to make Pikachu look more realistic, which I’m personally not so sure is a good idea based on this first picture.

We should learn more next week when the full interview with Pokemon Company President Tsunekazu Ishihara airs on October 28.
