Sony has announced that the PS4 will be released in early 2014 in Japan.
The exact release date for the PS4 in Japan is February 22, 2014. This makes it three months after it launches over in North America on November 15th, 2013. Unlike in the West, PS4 consoles in Japan come with a free copy of Knack.
It’s unknown why Japan gets the PS4 so late even though they’re the ones that made the console. It’s possible Sony wants a strong launch in North America and Europe so that it remains strong against the Xbox One. Sony doesn’t have to worry about Microsoft in Japan since they never buy Xbox consoles over there…
