Level Cap Increase, New Game ++ and New Class Revealed for Borderlands 2 [Updated]

Borderlands 2

After months of teasing and plenty of hints about it, Gearbox has finally dated the level cap increase and additional difficulty setting for Borderlands 2.

Starting on April 2nd, gamers will now be able to hit level 61, which is also the maximum legitimate level in the original Borderlands. To help make this grind less painful, Gearbox also officially confirmed the rumored Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode and is also included with this patch. Besides simply announcing the  latest update for Borderlands 2, Gearbox also formally revealed the new character they teased earlier this month.

The new character is known as Kreig and is basically a playable psycho enemy. As many have already predicted, Krieg is a high risk / high reward character, who is perfect for anyone that loves rushing enemies. His action skill allows you to gain health from attacking enemies and his skill trees are called Bloodlust, Mania and Hellborn. Not much else is known about Kreig, but he will be releasing in May for $9.99 or 800 MSP.

Update: According to the press release it seems the increased level cap and new difficulty will be coming in the form of paid DLC, which will be offered to season pass holders for free.
