After a long dry spell, it seems that a new Pacman game is in the works. Thanks to the people at SIliconera, they’ve found a trademark listing for Pacman Smash! in Europe. Absolutely no details are known and it could just be a safe guard, but this seems like an odd direction for the game.
While it might be silly, perhaps Pacman’s appearance in Street Fighter X Tekken was actually a reference to this title. It would suit the name, though it doesn’t suit the series in the least.
I wouldn’t say it was a long dry spell. Pac-Man Battle Royale came out 2 years ago.
