Activision and Steam have set up a promotion to allow those who do not own Modern Warfare 3 to play the Multiplayer portion of the game for free this weekend. There will be no restrictions as to what level you can reach or what you can unlock so you are free to play as long as you want until Monday. The promotion goes live tomorrow at 10am Pacific and those interested can head over to Steam and pre-load the game so you can veg all weekend and play without having to wait.
This promotion may come as a response to the report that the third entry in the Modern Warfare series is not selling as well as its predecessors. Modern Warfare 3 released last November and offered more of the same mindless shooting that fans of the series have come to love.
