Capcom has announced the official North American release date Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
Gamers don’t have to wait too long as the game will be shipping for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 20th, 2012. A PC version of the game will be shipped at a later date.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is a spin-off title from the major Resident Evil franchise. The game is set between the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 and there will be 6 playable characters in all.
A release date for the game in Europe, Australia and New Zealand have yet to be finalised.
It seems odd that Capcom would only announce a release date for North American gamers and not for the many gamers that live in PAL territories. It’s possible the game is shipping only a few days after the North American release date much like Street Fighter X Tekken is and many other video games.
Still, let’s hope us gamers living in PAL territories don’t get the short end of the stick and the game ends up being released a month or so later than March 20th…
