Wake Island is a very iconic map for Battlefield users since it has been in nearly every entry for the franchise in one way or another, including the upcoming Battlefield 3. Now, gamers enjoying the free-to-play Battlefield Heroes will be receiving Wake Island in celebration of the title’s second anniversary.
Also, players who log into Heroes between today and July 7th will be receiving some goodies in the form of the Party Packs. EA’s press release stated “Each Party Pack will include 77 Battlefunds, 25 Festive Flares, a permanent exclusive Party Hat, and a 7 day rental to play in a Birthday Suit.” The pack’s contents, specifically the last one, is sure to create some unique battles online.
With Team Fortress 2 going free-to-play, handing out free gifts to players is a good tactic in keeping Battlefield Heroes fans playing well into the foreseeable future.
