EA and Dice have officially unveiled that it’s currently developing Battlefield 3.
The first details were shared by Game Informer. The game will be developed for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Features for the game will almost be identical apart from the online multiplayer. The console versions will have a maximum of 24 players while the PC version maxes out at 64 players.
The Frostbite 2 engine that powered Bad Company 2 will be used for this game also.
Battlefield 3 is expected for release in later this year. In the meantime. you can check out the official Battlefield 3 website for more updates.

February 4, 2011 at 10:57 PMYou should check your facts. First off, we know that PC will have 64 player multiplayer, but DICE has not disclosed the amount of player on console servers yet. Additionally, frostbite 2.0 is brand new. the frostbite engine used in Bad Company 2, was an updated version of the engine for Bad Company 1. (BC2 used FB 1.5). This is why they are hyping up the new battlefield game so much, because of the new engine (among other things of course)
