Well, like most things these days something has been leaked.
The fan-created sequel to Chrono Trigger has hit the internet. If that was intended is suspect at this point.
The sequel, “Crimson Echoes” uses pretty much everything from the original NES game. Reddit poster buu700 says he has nothing to do with the project simply passing it along.
The real question is what Square Enix is going to do about this. They don’t have a good history with copyrights as they filed a cease and desist paper to a 3rd party that was making replica Final Fantasy swords. With something of this magnitude I imagine they will have the creator of Crimson Echoes assassinated by Cloud or Magus.
