Eiji Aonuma, the Legend of Zelda series’ producer, recently said to look out for news on the upcoming new Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo Wii, commonly titled among fans as ‘Zelda Wii‘.
Aonuma stated that the title was set to completely overhaul the Legend of Zelda series that fans know and love.
It is something we used to talk about with Mr Miyamoto, and he and I agree that if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise. So we have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time. I am really hopeful that people will be surprised with the changes we have implemented for this Wii version. I hope that we can show you something at the E3 show next year and it is something we are hopeful will be surprising
I’m a large fan of the Legend of Zelda series, but Motion Controls never really were my thing, hence I couldn’t really get into Twilight Princess on the Wii. What are you thoughts on this? It seems like a bold move for Nintendo, appearing to be reinventing one of their most prizes franchises, but will it pay off, or will it destroy the brilliance of the series?
