TGS 09: RPGs of 2010
RPGs is the only genre that's been missing in this generation. When the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Gamecube was released in the market, the RPG was a big boom to both North American and Japanese gamers. As we approach the 2010, we can finally say that the RPG genre will make a come back really soon.

When the PSPGo was revealed back in May, the biggest question on consumers minds was what would become of current UMD titles. PSP owners who want the upgrade were afraid of losing access to their current PSP library. Sony spoke of a possible trade program, which would have allowed those with current UMD games, to trade in their disc for a download voucher of the same game.

After the long rumors and speculations of the Nintendo Wii getting a price drop later this year, Nintendo officially announced earlier today the price drop of the system starting September 27th. From the $249.99 price point, the Wii will drop its price to $199.99 making it $50 less than retail.

SCEJ announced in their press conference earlier today the release date of the highly acclaimed driving simulation game, Gran Turismo 5, on March 2010 currently for Japan. There is currently no word on the exact month on when this title will come out in the United States but we're guessing around March as well.

SCEJ announced this afternoon in their press conference the upcoming release of a 250GB Final Fantasy XIII PS3 Slim Bundle that is slated for Japanese release this December 17th. There is currently no word on how much it will cost and it's unknown whether it's a Japan release only.

Capcom announces today that they will show two new titles that will be showcased in this week's Tokyo Game Show. Early next year, for the first time, Sengoku BASARA 3 that was announced a while back in Japan will finally be getting a North American and Europe release for the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3. Aside from BASARA, Capcom will also be localizing Ghost Trick, a supernatural logic puzzle game that is due to come out for the Nintendo DS next year.
