Enter the Gungeon – How to Unlock Paradox and Gunslinger

Part of what makes Enter the Gungeon so exciting is all the elements that go into unlocking the various components. While today marked the last content drop for the title, it did add two characters that are meant for the more hardcore players. If you think you have what it takes, here is what they require.

Unlocking Paradox

To unlock Paradox you need to first find this purple blob on the floor. It looks similar to the multidimensional stuff you see in the forge and seems to appear on floors two, three and four. It’s possible one and five also have a chance, though I’ve yet to see it or hear reports of that happening. Once you find it, simply interact with it and your character will change to look like the blob.

From here, you need to finish this run by killing The Lich. Not only is this rather difficult, Enter the Gungeon is coded so you don’t retain the effect if you save. This means, from the second you find it, you must make it to the end and be successful or else you need to redo it.

Unlocking Gunslinger

If you want to unlock the ultimate character, you need to first unlock Paradox. After this, kill the Lich as Paradox and instead of the game ending, you’ll restart on the first floor as the Gunslinger. Get to the end, go to bullet hell and face the Lich.

This time, instead of the normal fight, you have two Lich to fight. If you win the fight you’ll unlock Gunslinger.
