As reported earlier EA finally released Rock Band 2 to New Zealand stores. Before only local retailer "The Warehouse" were stocking the game. Now as of December 21 2009 all major retailing outlets in New Zealand have the game in stock.
In an interesting turn of events, Sega Australia has confirmed that the Australian Classification Review Board has reversed their original decision to refuse the game classification and has given the game a MA15+ rating.
Australians have been given the chance whether or not to impose an R18 rating on video games. Unlike films, video games in Australia only have a maximum rating of MA15+.
Australia's Classification Review Board is to meet this Friday to reconsider its earlier decision to ban the game. Sega asked for the reconsideration as developers Rebellion refused to water down the gore and violence contained within the game.
