E3 2019: BurgerTime Party is Pretty Much What You’d Expect

If you’re not familiar with BurgerTime, it’s a somewhat notable arcade game from the ’80s built around creating burgers by walking over parts it and avoiding enemies. It can be challenging, especially if you don’t know what to do, with the main objective really being stay alive.

From what was on display at E3, BurgerTime Party is built around the same concept, just with more modern graphics and co-op. The challenge is largely the same as before, win without messing up.

One stand out choice was adding team stun. It isn’t enough to step on burgers or avoid various enemies, you also need to avoid hitting your teammate. Doing so will stun them, opening the door to lives lost or putting your team in a bad spot. That being said, it seems to have the same charm similar multiplayer games have.

Of the games I played and watched, it didn’t take long before people were freaking out or celebrating wins. These aren’t enough to sell a concept, if anything it touches on the surface but it will be exciting to see how this evolves.
