Persona 5: The Royal announced; coming to PS4

Persona 5: The Royal announced; coming to PS4

Atlus officially announced today that Persona 5: The Royal, which was teased several months back, will be coming to PS4 – killing the speculation that it would be released for the Nintendo Switch.

In a short teaser commercial debuted following today’s Persona 5 The Animation: Stars and Broadcast, there was a short scene of a new female character responding to the question, “What do you think of the Phantom Thieves.”

In Persona 5: The Royal, fans can look forward to play as a female character, contrary to the male character that everyone one must when the first version was released a couple of years ago.

More information about Persona 5: the Royal will be revealed on April 24 at the Persona Super Live Concert.

Here’s an overview of Persona 5, via a PlayStation Store listing:

RPG fans rejoice! Uncover the picaresque story of a young team of phantom thieves in this latest addition to the critically acclaimed Persona series. By day, enjoy your high school life in the big city, spending your time however you please. The bonds you form with the people you meet will grow into a great power to help you fulfill your destiny! After school, use your Metaverse Navigator smartphone app to infiltrate Palaces–surreal worlds created from the hearts of corrupt adults–and slip away to your double life as a phantom thief. With the power of Persona, make these criminals have a change of heart by stealing the Treasure of their distorted desires. Join your new friends in the fight to reform society with your own sense of justice!

Check out the teaser below:

Check back with us on April 24 for more information about the game. Who knows- Atlus might secretly or unexpectedly announce a Switch version of Persona 5! Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
