Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition TGS 2018 Trailer released

Square Enix released today the Tokyo Game Show 2018 trailer for its recently announced Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

As previously mentioned, the Crystal Chronicles: remastered edition will feature four-player multiplayer, new character voice-overs, new areas added, and more. Those who missed out on Crystal Chronicles back when it was released on Nintendo Gamecube should definitely consider picking this one up when it releases sometime in 2019.

Here’s a brief overview of the game, courtesy of the Crystal Chronicles Wiki.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is a spin-off/companion game outside the main Final Fantasy series. Released in 2003 for the Nintendo GameCube, it marked the first return of Final Fantasy to a Nintendo console since Final Fantasy VI.

This Final Fantasy game features many new gameplay elements previously unseen in Final Fantasy, like real time fighting, as well as being the first RPG to incorporate GameCube-Game Boy Advance compatibility. The music was scored by Kumi Tanioka.

A remastered edition will release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019.

Currently, Square Enix still has not announced a release date. Those who prefer a Final Fantasy game that is not like the traditional ones we are accustomed to, consider the remastered edition as it features a different play style. Fans of the series can look forward to a more RTS-style combat.

Based from the trailer they have released, the graphics are pretty polished rather than the fuzzy visuals back when it was released on the Nintendo Gamecube. With the online feature, this is great for anyone who likes playing with friends. Between the PS4 and Switch version, I’ll be sure to get this one on the Switch due to its portability.

While there’s no release date yet, here’s the trailer that you can watch. We’ll let you know as soon as Square Enix announces the release date.
