The Division Developers Could Be Working On Their Own Battle Royale Game

The Division Developers Could Be Working On Their Own Battle Royale Game

The Battle Royale genre became super popular ever since the releases of both PUBG and Fortnite last year. The genre has grown even bigger now thanks to both games being playable on mobile devices this year. With that said, it seems as if more developers are jumping on the bandwagon because we may see a similar game type from the developers of Ubisoft’s The Division.

As reported by Game Reactor, the Swedish branch of Massive Entertainment might be working on a Battle Royale video game according to a source they obtained from inside the studio itself. It’s being said this game should have similar gameplay modes to both the aforementioned Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Ubisoft actually gave Massive Entertainment permission to look at the Battle Royale genre back in January and the studio has managed to come up with some good ideas so far according to the report. It is also worth mentioning Massive Entertainment told Ubisoft they can come up with something in a short amount of time.

Game Reactor has reached out to Ubisoft to see if any more info can be revealed. For now, Massive Entertainment are very busy working on a sequel for The Division as well as an upcoming Avatar video game that will be out in time for the release of Avatar 2 in December 2020.
