Sony Reveals Limited Edition PS4 Pro God of War Bundle, Game Has No Microtransactions

God of War will be one of Sony’s biggest exclusives on the PS4 console this year. In order to encourage more people to buy the game, Sony will be packaging it alongside the more powerful PS4 Pro console.

Sony revealed via the PlayStation Blog that on April 20th, gamers can buy the Limited Edition God of War PS4 Pro Bundle. The console itself has been heavily inspired by Kratos’ Leviathan Gray axe that he uses in the game.

The bundle includes a custom made PS4 Pro, a specially designed DualShock 4 controller, a physical Blu-ray disc of the new God of War game and also some additional digital bonus content. This bundle is out on April 20th, 2018 and will be available in the U.S and Canada for a price of $399.99 USD (MSRP)/$499.99 CAD (MSRP) respectively.

You can play the new God of War on a 4KTV and it will output in 4K using 2160p checkerboard. 1080p TV owners won’t be missing out either because the game will use supersampling giving you a much clearer image when playing it. If you have a TV that’s HDR, the game supports that too making the colors brighter and more vibrant.

In related news, God of War’s director Cory Balrog said on Twitter that there’s “no freakin way” that his game will have any microtransactions. This is not a silly question because Middle-earth: Shadow of War is also a single player video game, although that added microtransactions and loot boxes in order for you to level up and get better equipment. Thankfully, we don’t have to worry about that with Sony’s new PS4 exclusive.
