New Final Fantasy 7 Remake Artwork Shown

It’s been ages since we have received any big updates on the development for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Well this week we at least get to see some early concept artwork from the game.

The images were shared by a Twitter user by the name of junshen (via DualShockers). The images were displayed during a special 30th Anniversary celebration for the Final Fantasy franchise in Japan. Media weren’t allowed to take pictures of the event yet, but the photographer managed to still leak these out.

As you can see from the images, it appears Square Enix is going all out to make sure Final Fantasy 7 Remake looks awesome. The images show that the game will look far better than the outdated visuals of the original Final Fantasy 7 released back in 1997.

The images show familiar locations and characters such as the Tifa’s house, Aerith’s church as well as remodeled designs of the minor characters of Jessie, Biggs and Wedge. We might see clearer images later this month once the exhibition is open to the public. The art gallery offers more than just Final Fantasy 7 as some of the other games in the franchise are also showcased here.

Final Fantasy 7 is often regarded to be the best Final Fantasy game of all time. That said, the gameplay and visuals are kind of old now so people were hoping for a remake. Fans got their wish when Final Fantasy 7 Remake was finally announced at E3 2015. Even though it’s exciting, the sad part is waiting for the game to come out. Despite the game releasing in multiple parts, it sounds like Square Enix is taking its time developing the remake. Square Enix it seems is concentrating on the 2018 release of Kingdom Hearts 3 first. Before that, Final Fantasy XV was its main priority.
