Detective Pikachu Finally Gets A Release Date In North America And Europe

Detective Pikachu Finally Gets A Release Date In North America And Europe

The Detective Pikachu video game was released on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan way back in 2016. Ever since the Japanese release of the game, many people were wondering when it was going to come out for the rest of the world. Well now the wait is over because Nintendo has announced all of our prayers.

The Western release date of Detective Pikachu will be out on March 23rd, 2018. The game is a 3DS exclusive and the game will be launched with a huge Amiibo figure. As you can see above, the Detective Pikachu is much bigger than an ordinary figure of the character.

The game is pretty much what you think it is. Pikachu has to investigate the whereabouts of a missing father in Ryme City. The player is also accompanied by a human character by the name of Tim. Tim is the son and he wants to get his father back.

Official description of the game says: “Get ready to tackle cases in Detective Pikachu, coming to the Nintendo 3DS family of systems in spring 2018! With this tough-talking, coffee-drinking, one-of-a-kind Pikachu by your side, you can talk to witnesses, hunt for clues, and uncover the secrets of Ryme City“.

If this is not enough to excite you, a movie adaptation of the game is already in the works to be released next year. Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds will voice Pikachu and the film has the same plot as the game itself. Hopefully it becomes one of the better video games movies ever made. After all, history usually tells us that movies based on video games are usually pretty poor sadly…

Anyway, you can watch what the game looks like down below. The trailer is in English and was posted on YouTube.
