Microsoft Removes PUBG Advertisement With Plagiarized Artwork

In a rare occurrence, Microsoft’s marketing team copied an advertisement from a fan and didn’t give credit to the original work. The PUBG fan called out Microsoft on Reddit.

The person created artwork showing an Xbox One S with a hay field on top of it with one soldier. The poster also has a nice blue sky.

Well Microsoft ‘borrowed’ the design by using an Xbox One X console instead. The artwork is pretty much the same and the original artist was never credited.

Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hyrb then posted on Reddit: “Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that this is being investigated. In the meantime, our official channels have pulled down the asset in question. I’ll follow up with the OP /u/macsterr/ once I get more details.”

It’s great to see Microsoft respond quickly to this. The graphic designer they hired probably couldn’t come up with an original idea of their own…
