Gamestop Says Expect Nintendo Switch Stock Shortages To Last Rest Of The Year

Some bad news if you are planning on buying the Nintendo Switch this year from Gamestop. The retailer expects to be short on stock of the console for the remainder of this year.

Game Industry had a chance to talk to Tony Bartel who is Gamestop’s chief operating officer. He said that the retailer could have long-term shortages of the Nintendo Switch console due to high demand.

He said: “The demand is incredibly strong for this. As soon as we get any in our stores, it’s out within hours. We anticipate we’re going to be chasing supply this entire year.

If you plan on buying the Switch, make sure to be quick as it looks like you might not have many other chances to get one. Holiday 2017 is going to be a crazy time with Super Mario Odyssey out in the market. That game is expected to sell well like Zelda.
