Tekken 7 fans are wanting crossplay for the game so that they can challenge more gamers around the world. Sadly, it looks like it won’t be happening.

Avoiding the Puddle collected a bunch of tweets from Tekken 7’s producer Katsuhiro Harada. Many players want the ability to play with PC gamers as crossplay is available on games such as Killer Instinct and Street Fighter V.

Harada says it’s not possible. He said the following statements: “It’s NOT my heart & our issue. It’s 1st Party issue & platform security policy issue. Remember, SFV & KI is Exclusive PS4 or X1. KI = No PS4. TK7 is Multi console platform. With their security policy P2P can not be used between 3 platforms.SFV = PS4 only and PC. TK7 is 2 consoles & PC. The situation is different. Rocket League has game server. Fighting game = P2P network. The situation is different. Don’t ask me again.”

He then repeated himself a couple times telling people to ask first party devs on the issue. I’m guessing he means for people to bother Sony and/or Microsoft since he got sick of answering the same question over and over again.

As of right now. it looks like the game won’t have any cross play connectivity. This is disappointing since you won’t be able to play against everyone just people with the same platform as you.
