Take-Two Has Licensed Some Of Its IPs To Be Turned Into Movies

To put it bluntly, video games movies suck but this doesn’t stop people from trying. Take-Two is giving it a shot as the company has given permission for some of its games to be turned into movies.

Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick confirmed this during a new interview with MCV. He said: “We have licensed a couple of titles for motion picture production and we don’t have much more to say about that yet.”

He further said in the interview that Take-Two itself won’t be funding the projects. Take-Two will just have some creative control while others are responsible for making and funding movies and TV shows.

He does admit that the quality of video games movies are “spotty at best“, so it will be interesting to see what type of projects are in the pipeline. Hopefully this means there will be future movies based on Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, BioShock and more.
