The sales of Pokemon Sun and Moon have been very impressive since the game came out last November. The game has already outsoldĀ Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.
Sales have been updated for Pokemon Sun and Moon and the duo has sold overĀ 14.69 million copies as of December 31st, 2016. This is an impressive number as it doesn’t include sales for January 2017.
To put this into perspective, Mario Kart 7 on 3DS has sold over 14.82 million copies while Pokemon X and Y sold 16.06 million copies. Sun and Moon is third as it edged out the 13.68 million units sold by Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Pokemon truly is a huge franchise and it will be interesting to see how popular a Switch version of the game will be. After all, the Switch is both a home and handheld console. A Pokemon game on Switch could be a very big seller!
