In addition to Kombat Pack 2/Mortal Kombat XL adding new characters and costumes, there are also 13 trophies/achievements to collect. Unlike the base game, most of these are just fun things to do with each of the characters, most of which can be completed in an hour or two.
Where It All Started
Perform the Pit Stage Fatality with Leatherface in the Klassic Tower.
Select Klassic Tower and pick Leatherface. I strongly suggest using Berserker stance, simply because there is another trophy/achievement that requires you play as that variation. Keep playing until you get the Pit Stage. Try to win the fight in the middle of the stage and then during the Finish Them segment, input forward, back, down, up or push block and four if you have an easy fatality to perform it.
Please note, if you find this stage with a character that’s not Leatherface, simply push start and select change character. This will allow you to select them and try your luck at getting the fatality.
Perform the Kove Stage Fatality with Triborg in the Klassic Tower.
Select Klassic Tower and pick Triborg. Keep playing until you get the Kove Stage. Try to win the fight in the middle of the stage and then during the Finish Them segment, input down, down, up, block or push block and four if you have an easy fatality to perform it.
Please note, if you find this stage with a character that’s not Triborg, simply push start and select change character. This will allow you to select them and try your luck at getting the fatality.
What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Still Alive
Perform a Stage Brutality with Alien in the Klassic Tower.
This one can be pretty annoying, but it can be really easy if you do it right. Start by selecting Klassic Tower, pick Alien, choose Konjurer (this has a trophy/achievement associated with it), set the AI to very easy and then start the match. Keep doing this until you get either The Kove or Quan Chi’s Fortress. Once you get one of these two stages, play the match normally until your opponent is about to die. If you’re playing on the Kove, hold down change stage and then win with an uppercut. For those on Quan Chi’s Fortress, simply win by using Shao Kahn’s hammer from the background (its to the far right). This should instantly give you a brutality without needing to worry about specific tasks or doing them the right way.
Don’t perform a Kombo over four hits with Bo’ Rai Cho and win a complete Online Ranked 1v1 match.
Okay, needless to say, this trophy/achievement is more luck based than anything else. The first problem you’re going to be faced with is finding someone who’s bad enough to lose against someone not utilizing combos. This could take a while, especially since you might get matched against multiple people with hundreds of wins, so keep at it. The other problem is actually failing to hit a single kombo over four hits. Not only does Bo’ Rai Cho have a lot of easy combos, this means you have to watch using certain attacks (spinning cain alone does four hits, grab does three, etc), you absolutely can’t use your X-Ray.
As for actually doing it, well, I strongly suggest using the Bartitsu variation, simply because it gives your uppercut more range. The best way to go about this is to keep things as simple as possible, which is going to make you stupidly easy to predict for anyone remotely competent at the game. Stick to doing nothing more than jump plus one or two, that plus an uppercut or an uppercut by itself. Getting these two moves together will do a decent 18% damage, so it’s all come down to finding someone who will lose to this tactic. Mind you, you’re free to do more, but one Spin and Slam, X-Ray, Kane Chaos or even a two, one, two, one, two combo and you’ve failed to complete the task.
Win a match with your opponent stepping on Caltrops.
Just go into versus with another controller, choose Erron Black, get the opponent low on health and then have them walk on the Caltrops for the win.
Dance The Night Away
Flip Stance 10 times with a Kombat Pack 2 character during a Fatality sequence in an Online match.
You’re best doing this when you complete Lands-Down. After winning the fight, simply flip stance 10 times instead of inputting a fatality.
Perform a Klassic Fatality with a Klassic skin.
For this I just picked Sub-Zero and did head rip. This is done by pushing forward, down, forward one or block and three with an easy fatality.
Perform Bo’ Rai Cho’s Drinking special 10 times during a match in the Klassic Tower.
Select Drunken Master and put it on very easy, followed by just spamming drink. The AI shouldn’t be hostile enough to stop you from doing it and if you run into issue, simply knock them down, followed by drinking until they attack.
Hug it Out
Throw 5 Face Huggers during a match with Alien in the Klassic Tower.
Select Konjurer and put it on very easy, followed by just spamming Ovomorph. The AI shouldn’t be hostile enough to stop you from doing it and if you run into issue, simply knock them down, followed by using Ovomorph.
Win a match after connecting all attacks from Leatherface’s Berserker Stance in Klassic Tower.
Select Killer, put it on very easy and then go Berserker Stance and then use each one of its specific attacks. You don’t need to use the super version for it to count, but you do need to use all three and win the round.
Win 5 complete matches with each Robot Type.
This trophy/achievement is a little misleading. While you can go into two player, win a single round and repeat five time for each robot, you also need to select Cyber Sub-Zero to get the trophy. This is done by pushing up, up and then one on the variation screen.
Going the Distance
Complete the Klassic Tower with one of the Kombat Pack 2 characters.
Put it on very easy and finish all the stages. If you’re feeling especially lazy, feel free to skip as many fights as the game will let you.
All I do is Win
Jump back and forth over your opponent 5 times during the Fatality sequence and perform a fatality.
This can be sort of tricky, but the easiest way to do it is to jump over them five times and then use an easy fatality on them. You should have enough time to actually input the move, assuming you’re fast enough, but you might as well get your uses out of the easy ones.
