Techland has today talked about their upcoming zombie title, Dead Island and how it won’t be like Dead Rising.
Adrian Ciszewski, Dead Island’s producer, explained that when developing the game “we’re trying to do something mature.” As the game is set around surviving a zombie onslaught, it’s good to finally see a true gritty zombie title.
Ciszewski went on to say “it’s not about funny Dead Rising stuff. It’s not like there’s a crazy doctor with crazy experiments.” While not exactly a dig at Dead Rising, Techland seem to want to clearly separate their zombie title from Dead Rising.

I recall reading articles from people who played a short demo as the rapper character. While killing zombies, he would yell stupid comments like “Booyah” and “How you like that.”
Doesnt sound gritty or serious at all, to be honest. Techland is contradicting itself.
