Unlocking the endings in a Neptunia game can feel like a chore. Typically you need to manipulate shares, complete specific tasks, and a bunch of other things. Thankfully Neptunia Re;Birth 3 does away with a lot of this, though it can be hard to unlock the different endings. The deciding factor between normal and good is viewing a specific scene at a specific time and the true end requires a bunch of side grinding. To help make this process easier, I tried to map out what exactly is required to unlock each ending, so you can get the most of your game.
If you fail to meet the conditions for the good ending you’ll unlock the normal one. The easiest way to do this is to avoid events and simply rush through the game.
To unlock the good ending, you need to obtain IF’s Notebook, Compa’s Syringe, Nep’s Pudding, Stuff Animals and Peashy’s Drawing. To obtain these items, you need to view specific events in chapter five and six, which you’ll most likely do by default, though it’s easy to miss Nep’s Pudding.
You can obtain IF’s Notebook and Compa’s Syringe at the start of chapter five. Simply go to Planeptune and view the IF and Peashy events. To obtain Nep’s Pudding, you need to go to one of the other towns (I did Leanbox), witness the event, defeat the boss, return to Planeptune and then view the new event there.
The remaining two items are found in chapter six, with one unlocking by story progression and the other is for viewing the Peashy event at the start. Once you have all five you’ll have the option of getting the good end or completing more tasks to unlock the true end.
For the true end, you need to unlock six specific dungeons and view the event in each dungeon. While this sounds easy on paper, the amount of work involved depends entirely on how much time you’ve spent exploring optional dungeons.
Start by getting to chapter nine. Here you’ll obtain the plans required to unlock the dungeons and can witness the optional events. Please note, you have until you unlock Extradimensional Space in Eden to complete these tasks, so don’t progress beyond that point without viewing the events. To get the materials needed to unlock those dungeons you need to go through a number of optional dungeons (they will say new by them), find the add dungeon plan and rinse/repeat until you finally unlock the place that has the materials you need.
The dungeons you need to unlock are as follows.
- So Shal Forest
- Keraga Dimension
- Pii Shii Game Factory
- Graphic Pass
- Vida Dimension
- Powerlevel Island
Remember, you need to both unlock the dungeon and view the dungeons event for all six to meet the requirements for the true end.
Once you complete this task, you can progress in the story and you’ll experience a slightly different version of chapter 10. Once you beat the final boss for an additional time, you’ll unlock the true end, the special trophy and end up in the post game world area.
