Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire Remakes Officially Announced By Nintendo

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Well this announcement certainly came out of nowhere, as Nintendo uploaded a video to the official Pokemon YouTube page that no one expected to see today. That announcement was the reveal of remakes of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire known as Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.

It was only a matter of time that we’d see a full remake of these two games based in the Hoenn region, especially after the success of Pokemon FireRed, LeafGreen, SoulSilver, and HeartGold. The surprising part is the timing, with Nintendo usually saving their big hitters for Nintendo Directs. With the big E3 Digital presentation only a month away, why not wait until then to announce?

Regardless, I know I am ecstatic about this news and can’t wait to get my hands on these games in November when they release worldwide. You can check out the reveal trailer for the two games below:
