Xbox One DRM Reports Are False Says Microsoft

Killer Instinct (3)

There was a video yesterday that posted a Killer Instinct error when the player had to verify he was the owner of the game. Many people thought it was Xbox One’s DRM coming back.

Game Informer reached out to Microsoft for a clear answer to the issue.

The Microsoft representative said:

As we have said previously, there is no DRM check-in every 24 hours. Reports that say otherwise are inaccurate and false. The video in question is inconclusive, showing an error message.

It’s possible the person that was playing Killer Instinct was using it on someone’s else’s Xbox One console. Usually the master account’s console can play digital games offline.
