Rumors surfaced recently that Minecraft was being developed for the Wii U, but those hopes have now been dashed. According to the official Twitter for the creator of the ever growing Minecraft, Markus Persson, there are no plans for the game to come to Nintendo’s latest console.
I am not aware of any plans to release a Wii U version of Minecraft. I agree a Wii U version would make sense, btw. The only reason for no current plans is we’ve got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.
This does give a little hope for the future, but with the game still being worked on for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, they are obviously quite busy.
