Pilotwings stage coming to Super Smash Bros. Wii U

Smash Bros. Pilotwings

The Super Smash Bros. official website has been posting daily images or updates. So far the updates haven’t been of the caliber of the Brawl Dojo, but it is still early in the game’s development. Today’s new image shows off a new stage for Wii U based on Pilotwings for Super Nintendo. The picture is said to be taken by game director Masahiro Sakurai during the development of the game.

The image looks just like the island stage from the SNES version of Pilotwings, which likely means the stage will take place up in the air on platforms with this in the background. This image is specifically from the Wii U version of the game, but it makes you wonder if we could also see it in the 3DS version considering the last Pilotwings release was for the Nintendo 3DS.

Since this was posted to the official site, Sakurai posted the same image to his Miiverse with the caption “Pic of the day. This island looks familiar!”

Make sure to either watch the new Nintendo Direct tomorrow morning or stay tuned to Just Push Start after to see if there is any further Smash Bros. news.
