Microsoft Fans Petition For Controversial Xbox One Policies To Return

Some crazy fans are petitioning for Microsoft to return the Xbox One’s many controversial policies.

Out of principle, I’m not linking the petition here but it exists if you want to see it. A guy by the name of David Fontenot started the petition and wants the Xbox One that was announced before the policies were reversed shortly after E3.

Here’s what the petition says:

“This was to be the future of entertainment. A new wave of gaming where you could buy games digitally, then trade, share or sell those digital licenses. Essentially, it was Steam for Xbox. But consumers were uninformed, and railed against it, and it was taken away because Sony took advantage of consumers uncertainty. We want this back. It can’t be all or nothing, there must be a compromise.”

Basically, these guys want 24 hour internet check-ins and restrictions to sharing/trading/selling video games. Renting games was not even an option on the Xbox One before Microsoft reversed the policies.
