If that’s the case, we got the basics down and we are here to tell you on what exactly Monster Hunter is all about and the things you will need to know.
The very first time you land in Moga Village and see the beautiful cutscene, first time gamers will wonder what are they supposed to do after reading all the conversations with the Village Chief. In Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, you have one goal and that is to take down big monsters. Before you get to do that, you will go through a series of introduction missions with the Village Chief. Once you get that done, you will then open the doors to where the beauty of the game truly shines.
For first timers, they tend to get overwhelmed on the things they find in the Moga Village and wonder what they should do next. Below are the highlights of what things you will need do when playing the game.
Getting Guild Quests
To hunt monsters and do missions, there will be Guild quests that you can do. You will tend to find the Guild Attendant in every town you get to. At first, you will be tasked to take on lower leveled quests, primarily the one star missions. As you finish and complete them, you will advance to far more advanced missions. The kind of tasks you will be assigned to do vary; it can be slaying down monsters, collecting items, fishing for fish and more. Once you complete each quest, you will receive a reward that will improve your ranking with the guild to allow you to get better missions. Always read the quest information before attempting to try it.
The Basics in Quests
Now that you have accepted a job from the Guild Attendant in Moga Village, it’s time to depart on the boat and head to the area where you will do your quest. The moment you arrive to your destination, one of the things you should do first is check the supply box. The blue box that you see is called the Supply Box and you will see useful items that you can use in your missions. Get the map, whetstone to sharpen your weapons, potions to heal your health bar, and ration to restore your stamina. Other things there will be useful in later missions are a cool drink for the sun or a warm drink for the cold. As for the red box that you see in the same area as the blue box, this is where you will deposit quest items.
Once you get the supplies you need, look over the map and do the mission you are tasked to do. Don’t forget that in every mission, you have fifty minutes to complete it and you can only be revived three times, otherwise it’s mission failed.
In Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, you are a hunter therefore, you will have to rely on the items that you find across the areas you get into. Whenever you get a chance, search the surroundings around you as can do the following: catch bugs, pick up mushrooms, loot the dead monsters that you kill, mine for items that you can use for upgrades, or do fishing to get fish. Whenever you fill up your Item Pouch, you can always store them in your Item Box in Moga Village.
