ZombiU DLC Depends on Game’s Popularity

ZombiU launched with the Wii U in North America yesterday and was met with varied review scores. Now that it’s out on store shelves, Ubisoft has been questioned regarding the possibility of post-launch DLC appearing on the new Nintendo Network. The response was mostly negative, leaving just a tiny bit of hope in the final statement.

The team at Ubisoft Montpellier currently has no plans to release DLC, as ZombiU multiplayer game director Bogdan Bridinel informed Official Nintendo Magazine. He went on to state the following:

A few things that we tried during production ended up on the cutting room floor, but this was because they didn’t work out as well as we had hoped, not because the schedule forced us to.

While that sounds pretty definitive, Bridinel added that if the game becomes popular, “[DLC] could become a possibility.” The varied review scores — the scores range from 4.5/10 to 9.0/10 — don’t help us formulate an educated guess and have only created more uncertainty.

We’ll be sure to let you know if Ubisoft mentions anything more on ZombiU DLC.
