PS3 4.30 Firmware Update now available For Download

Trophy Card

After a long wait, PS3 users can finally view Vita trophies without the use of a Playstation Vita. Yes thats right, PS3 Firmware 4.30 is finally available for download.

To get the download the firmware, simply go to the settings area and select update. If thats giving you problems, you can also sign out and sign back into the PSN to trigger the update.

Besides finally adding Vita trophies to the PS3, you can now see your profile card on your trophy list (pictured above), similar to whats already on the Playstation Vita. The update also marks the end of new users being accepted into Life with Playstation, though you’re hardly missing much.

  1. Decent update
But how is your ps3 theme the original black color???
That is my favorite theme look, and i really miss it…. please share how you get?

  2. But how did Sony get the background colour. Is it still possible for us to get that black background colour.

  3. Well I did the 4.30 update clicked agree to terms download started the my screen went black then shut itself off I assumed system was done so I turned on system an now my tv says no signal!! Called Sony did all the troubleshooting an the techs concludEd some older systems sometimes do crash with the updates an I have to pay them 150 or so to repair it or get a refurbished system! I think it’s bs that I have to lay for a update I had to use Sony your shady I’m starting to believe these updates are intentional I don’t have a damn vita so why would it affect my system???

  4. Updates wont go through keeps saying i have a internet connection problem but i checked that and its no the problem

  5. Download the update off a PC to a USB stick from the playstation website it might say its 4.25 but its not its 4.30 they just haven’t updated there page. Then start the PS3 in Safe mode with the USB stick plugged in and do the download from there, it should work. I always have problems with updates this process is the only way I can get them to work.

  6. downloaded update fine & installed no problems, is it possible you guys thats trying to update has prev, had systems that were bricked? and now trying to do it legit?
